Wearing many hats in healthcare, I relish speaking briefly or extensively with audiences of lay people, clinicians, researchers, advocates, policymakers, and entrepreneurs. I speak about the experience of the people at the center of care (patients, caregivers, parents, direct care clinicians and staff, and the people who support them). I excel at audience engagement and participation. View a sample of recent speaking engagements here

Wearing many hats in healthcare, I relish writing for the Tower of Babel of lay people, clinicians, researchers, advocates, policymakers, and entrepreneurs. I write about the experience of the people at the center of care (patients, caregivers, parents, direct care clinicians and staff, and the people who support them). I’m skilled in identifying the audience, clarifying the point to be made with a logical progression to action, and balancing data and stories. I’ve been editing for years.

I wear my many hats all at once: patient, consumer, caregiver, parent, clinician, informaticist, researcher, writer, performance improvement leader, musician. I have served on PCORI, CMS, AHRQ, and MassHealth expert panels. I connect the dots. The panels deliver more when I participate.

What People Are Saying:

We recently launched a new center for interprofessional education and we drew on Danny's experience involving people at the center of care in governance, design, and operations. The consultation offered a fresh perspective and different possibilities for us as we move forward in our work. Danny is uniquely experienced in many aspects of health, from clinical care to team leadership, from systems management to patient advocacy. His holistic perspective is valuable and refreshing.

Danny is an exceptional nurse leader who is the most patient and family centered advocate that I have known. His quest to improve the patient experience through continuous quality improvement is admirable. He is quite knowledgeable about various organizational cultures that promote and support patient and family centered care.

Danny has outstanding skills in project management, producing results that are on time and on budget. Throughout his career, he has been an advocate for both consumers and providers, participating in many councils and focus groups. He is a data management expert, with deep understanding of how data relates to outcomes and actions. He understands the changing role of health care, particularly in regard to integration of behavioral and medical health services. And finally, he is a respected leader.
